I have always been inspired by other artists throughout the ages, and reference to the work of these artists whom I greatly admire has been among the subjects of my own pieces from the beginning of my career.

In former series, "Day Trip to the Renaissance" and "Day Trip to Wonderland",  I explored the relationship between the late 20th century artist and her forebears by introducing figures from these earlier artists' works into the contemperory settings of my oil paintings .

This series, "Museum Postcards: Places I've Been" is an extension of that exploration.  Using photography and computer software, I have inserted images of myself, the 21st century artist, into the paintings of earlier masters, where I appear as a photographer who is able to interact with the figures in their space.  And I hope the viewer can see the humor, as well.
